Cylindrical roller brush consists of bristles attached to a cylinder-shaped core. Also known as cylinder brushes, roller brushes, or rotary brushes, these brushes come in various materials and sizes, making them well-suited to a wide range of applications.
CLASSIFICATION
There are two primary types of cylindrical roller brushes: tufted roller brushes and spiral wound roller brushes.
Tufted roller brushes are made by attaching individual bristle tufts to a plastic or steel pipe, resulting in a brush with a smooth appearance and a consistent level of bristle density. These brushes are effective at cleaning and polishing a variety of surfaces, from simple dusting to intense scrubbing, and are commonly used in conveyor cleaning and industrial cleaning applications.
Spiral-wound roller brushes, on the other hand, are made by winding one or more strips of bristles around a steel core, creating a brush with a coiled or helical appearance. This type of brush can be wound with bristles spaced to create a gap between each coil or with bristles wound tightly together to create a zero gap between the coils. The design of the spiral wound roller brush allows it to conform to curved surfaces and irregular shapes, and makes it particularly well-suited to cleaning conveyor systems and machine parts.
MATERIALS
Cylindrical roller brushes are made using a variety of materials, including nylon, polypropylene, abrasive filaments, and natural bristles. Nylon and polypropylene are common choices due to their versatility, durability, and resistance to chemicals and high temperatures. Abrasive filaments are incorporated to create brushes that are designed for aggressive cleaning or finishing tasks, such as deburring metal parts or stripping paint. Natural bristle brushes are used for gentler cleaning applications, such as cleaning delicate surfaces or wiping down electronic equipment.
APPLICATIONS
Cylindrical roller brushes are used in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, automotive, food processing, and pharmaceutical.
